Prepared for life, not just exams

Teach the Future, a campaign composed of students from all four nations of the UK and supported by Students Organising for Sustainability (SOS), has recently announced the launch of “Curriculum for a Changing Climate: track changes review of the national curriculum for England” report.

The first-of-its-kind report reviews the curriculum for key stages 3 and 4 in the English National Curriculum, covering subjects ranging from History to Art and Design. Using a ‘tracked changes’ methodology, the report suggests where and how the national curriculum can be amended to include sustainability and respond to the climate and ecological crisis.

360 Skills For Life agrees that tackling the climate crisis is the key issue to face young people in their lives and that the curriculum needs to be refocus on skills for life to cope with this and thrive. The social enterprise is seeking funding to develop new modules in Skill City VR to cover this topic, using realistic dilemmas to encourage skills including discussion and decision-making, led by young people.
