UK Safer Internet Centre is organising celebrations and learning based around the theme ‘Want to talk about it?
Getting young people to engage in open and honest conversations about their life online helps us, as adults, understand how they engage with the internet. This in turn can make the a safer place for everyone.
The aim of Safer Internet Day (SID) in the UK for 2023 is to ‘inspire a national conversation about using technology responsibly, respectfully, critically and creatively’.
360’s innovative new programme interactively tackles this in the classroom, using VR as a catalyst to those all important conversations about how, when and why we use the internet. Social media, meeting internet ‘friends’ and peer on peer abuse through photo sharing are three of the key areas explored in the 360 programme. Working on the programme requires young people to draw on their core behaviours from resilience, to creative and critical thinking, as well as key on life skills such as questioning and problem solving.
